SCOTT AMEY

 

Scott Amey is the primary owner and Chairman of the Board of Amyx. Inc. In this role, he has oversight responsibility for the strategic planning for the annual corporate business plan, annual budget planning, and the evaluation of major proposal efforts.  He also actiively participates in the monthly in-progress reviews for Business and Program Operations, customer visits and employee recognition events. . Mr. Amey holds a Masters Degree in Computer Science and a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics. He currently holds a Top Secret clearance.


In 1993, Mr. Amey co-founded RS Information Systems, Inc. When Mr. Amey elected to leave RSIS in November, 2004, RSIS had grown to be the 40th largest IT and Engineering Services provider to the United States Government, with over 1,700 full time employees and approximately $320 Million in annual revenue. RSIS provides federal customers such as NASA, NOAA, the Department of Energy, the Department of Transportation, the Social Security Administration, the U. S. Air Force, and the Veterans Administration with professional services in the areas of Systems Engineering, Applications Development, Network Security, and Telecommunications. Mr. Amey served as the Chief Operating Officer of the company, overseeing the successful execution of all contracts, the capture of new business opportunities, and the annual budgeting and financial management exercises of the company. Mr. Amey also led the company's Quality Management System, ISO, and Software Engineering Institute/Capability Maturity Model certifications.


From 2004 until 2007, Mr. Amey volunteered his time and services to George Washington University's School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) and to Georgetown University Hospital's Pediatric Oncology Clinic. For GW, he established and managed the SEAS Career Services Office, which focuses on finding summer internships and full time jobs for all GW engineering and computer science students who desire them. For Georgetown, he helped in the establishment and initial funding of the Division of Neuro-Oncology and Childhood Cancer Research, a new division within the Pediatric Oncology Clinic that is dedicated to the cure and treatment of childhood brain cancer.


In 2007, Mr. Amey was the recipient of the GWU Alumni Service Award for founding and establishing the School of Engineering and Applied Science Career Center. In 2008 he was once again recognized by GWU as a recipient of the 2008 Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award, the highest award given by the University. In 2009, Mr. Amey was inducted into the GWU School of Engineering’s Hall of Fame.


Previously, Mr. Amey worked for Information Systems and Networks Corporation, Metters Industries, United Technologies, the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, Singer Link Simulation Systems, and Vitro Laboratories.
