President Steven Knapp and The George Washington Alumni Association honored the 2008 recipients of the Distinguished and Recent Alumni Achievement Awards at a ceremony during Alumni Weekend on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008. Seven alumni received awards, including Scott Amey, President and CEO of Amyx, Inc. who received the Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award. This is the highest Alumni award given by the University.

Alumni Achievement Award recipients are recognized for the lasting impact they have made on society though outstanding professional, voluntary, or philanthropic accomplishments. In Mr. Amey's case, he was recognized for his roles as President/CEO of Amyx and as Co-Founder/COO of RS Information Systems, Inc., as well as his philanthropic support to George Washington University and Georgetown University Hospital Pediatric Oncology Unit.
